Occasionally, we have had complaints of people not getting an email response. Unfortunately when the only method of contact is via email, it can be very frustrating when our responses don’t get through.

Likewise it can be VERY frustrating to our customers when they feel like they are not getting through to us. We care about what you have to say.

Twinkle, Twinkle Feedback Stars; Why eBay Has Gone Too Far

A Powerseller’s Perspective on eBay’s New Feedback System
By Ty Wigal

We have recently stopped participating in the eBay feedback system after many years of active participation. Many of our buyers want to know why. Well, the answer is quite simple. The new anonymous star system is just absurd and we will not support it.

When participating in the feedback system, buyers can leave a positive, neutral or negative just like always. However, the new system now allows for the additional rating of one to five stars on four criteria. The point of our contention is the fact that this can be done in total anonymity. We feel that, in the spirit of fair play, buyers should be scrutinized in like fashion by sellers.

The Perfect Ebay Buyer. Fact or Fiction?

Posted in Ebay Business at 10:06 pm by tywiggle

I have been a Powerseller on eBay since the late 90′s. During the journey I have learned many things and have experienced the very extremes of humanity, from the utmost in decency to the most absurd and asinine behavior known to man. To ship or not to ship?

Posted in Ebay Business, Wallcovering at 9:33 pm by Carrie Wigal

Late last week I received a request to cancel an order that was made 24 hours prior. Unfortunately, we had already shipped it. Wait a minute…unfortunately? I thought quick shipping was a good thing. Apparently to some, it is not. When I informed the customer I couldn’t cancel it because it was already en route to her, she became hostile, threatening a dispute with her credit card company. Whoa, wait a minute.

I informed her she could simply refuse the package, and when we received it back, she would get a full refund since she had called to cancel it within 48 hours of placing the order. (Of course, we would have to eat the shipping charges.) I didn’t hear back from her yet, so I’m waiting to either receive the package back or a letter from the credit card company.

Why must people assume the worst? We are very reasonable people…there’s no need to resort to threats. Read the rest of this entry »

US Postal Rate Increase

Posted in Ebay Business, Wallcovering at 8:17 pm by Carrie Wigal

US Postal RateI was just reading about the US postal rate increase and was asked how this affected us. Since we do most of our shipping via the USPS, it certainly has an impact on us. However, it’s not as bad as we first thought it might be.

Besides the fact that our local post office is “out of” 2nd ounce stamps, which for the life of me I can’t understand. This rate increase has been expected for several weeks…this is a small town, surely they didn’t “run out”. I don’t know where the problem lies, but nonetheless it’s a pain to have to use a 5 cent, 10 cent & 2 cent stamp instead of just one 17 cent stamp. Read the rest of this entry »
