About Carrie Wigal

Carrie WigalCarrie Wigal is a 38 year old, wife and work-at-home-mom/stepmom of four. She currently lives in rural Central Virginia and spends most of her time changing diapers, training pre-schoolers, taming a teenager, cooking sit-down dinners, keeping/cleaning house and working online.

Why “WiggleWigal”?

Where did we come up with the name “WiggleWigal”?

Well, before I met my husband, I was a “Johnson” and the biggest ridicule I had concerning my name was being called “Johnson & Johnson(r) Baby Powder” in about the second grade. Although I didn’t like that as a child, being a “Johnson” most of my life was rather easy. I never had to pronounce, repeat or spell out the name to anyone.

Then I met my husband. He used the name “WiggleWigal” on eBay as a userid. You see, he was a “Wigal” and for some reason, everyone pronounced his name as “Wiggle”. I thought that was strange because it seemed obvious to me phonetically it should be a long “i” sound since there was only one “g” in the name.

Shortly after we married I experienced the phenomenon for myself…the hesitation when people came to read the name aloud…”wig-al” was fairly common, and so was “why-jull”, but lo and behold, “wiggle” was used more times than not…and often times without hesitation!

So when the time came for us to come up with a name for our business (encompassing many niches), I took a hankering to my husband’s old eBay userid, “wigglewigal”. It was generic, memorable and usually got a chuckle. So, we made it official…our company’s legal name is “WiggleWigal LC”.

When life hands you a lemon of a lastname, embrace it…sweeten it up and make yourself some lemonade! …By the way, “Wigal” is pronounced “why-gull” (hard “g”), but we’ve come to answer to most anything. ;)

History of WiggleWigal LC

We are what you would consider a “Mom and Pop” shop on the internet. We do not function out of a big office with oodles of telephone operators standing by to take your order, so we’re able to pass on a considerable savings, unlike our competition bogged down in overhead costs.

My husband and I are regular, down-to-earth people who work out of our home in rural Central Virginia, raising four children, pursuing dreams of organic farming, memoir-writing and actively participating in our children’s lives and local community.

We started our business with an eBay store over 3 years ago and are proud to have risen to the level of Gold Power Sellers. Wanting to strike out on our own, we began to develop our own websites on the side.

In just a few years, we’ve grown to the point where our websites generate the majority of our business while eBay remains merely a side income. While we still value the experience we learned on eBay, we are excited at the prospects available to us on the world wide web.

Personally I pride myself in doing my best in everything I do and I always make an honest effort to do the right thing in every instance.
