Glossary of Terms

Drop Match – This type of design does not run in a straight line across the wall. Instead, it appears to run diagonally when adjoining strips of paper are positioned edge to edge.

Match – The horizontal alignment of adjacent strips to properly display the desired design affect.

Pattern Repeat – The distance from one point on a pattern of wallcovering to the identical point in a vertical direction.

Random Match – This type of design is one in which the pattern matches, no matter how adjoining strips of paper are positioned.

Scrubbable – The wallcovering is durable enough that it can be scrubbed with the use of moderate pressure and a damp cotton cloth or sponge. Mild dishwashing liquid may be used.

Spongable – The wallcovering can be wiped gently with a soft, dry sponge. Mild detergent is not recommended. 

Straight Match – This type of design is one in which the pattern flows horizontally across the strips of paper.

Washable – The wallcovering can be washed with gentle pressure and a soft, damp cloth. Mild dishwashing liquid may be used.
